Inflation Rate in Taiwan
Inflation falls to over one-year low in April
Inflation ticked down to 2.3% in April from March’s 2.4%. April’s result represented the weakest inflation rate since February 2022. Looking at the details of the release, transportation prices fell at a more moderate pace in April compared to the previous month, while price pressures for housing picked up pace slightly. In contrast, food price inflation eased notably.
In addition, the trend pointed down mildly, with annual average inflation coming in at 2.8% in April (March: 2.9%).
Finally, consumer prices rose 0.76% from the previous month in April, accelerating from the 0.25% increase logged in March.
