Finland Inflation April 2023

Finland: Harmonized inflation falls to one-year low in April

Harmonized inflation came in at 6.3% in April, down from March’s 6.7%. April’s reading represented the weakest inflation rate since April 2022. The figure was primarily driven by a slower rise in prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages and falling price pressures for transportation. Moreover, prices for recreation grew at a more subdued pace.

Nevertheless, annual average harmonized inflation rose to 7.9% in April (March: 7.8%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation was steady, coming in at March’s 7.9% in April.

Lastly, harmonized consumer prices increased 0.05% from the previous month in April, a smaller increase than March’s 0.45% increase. April’s result marked the weakest reading since December 2022.
