European steel prices extended its rally in April, amid resilient automotive and heavy transport demand. EU steel prices averaged USD 917 per metric ton in April, which was up 7.8% from March’s price but was 37.9% lower than in the same month last year. On 28 April, European hot-rolled coil steel traded at USD 926 per metric ton, which was 1.2% higher than on the same day of the previous month.
