U.S. steel prices remained elevated during most of April, boosted by stronger manufacturing activity in the U.S. Prices for U.S. steel averaged USD 1,158 per metric ton in April, which was 8.3% higher than March’s price but was down 21.4% from the same month last year. Meanwhile, on 28 April, hot-rolled coil steel traded at USD 1,069 per metric ton, which was down 8.2% from the same day of the previous month.
