Cotton Prices

Cotton prices in April were broadly stable on average, but they dropped mid-month on rising supply and feeble demand. In April, cotton prices averaged USD 81.2 cents per metric ton, which was 0.3% higher than March’s price but was down 42.2% from the same month last year. On 28 April, cotton traded at USD 79.0 cents per pound, which was down 4.5% from the same day of the previous month.
