Rice prices rose in April on tight global stocks and adverse weather stoking supply fears. Prices averaged USD 500 per metric ton in April, which was up 5.4% from March’s price and was 16.5% higher than in the same month last year. On 28 April, rice traded at USD 499 per metric ton, which was 1.8% higher than on the same day of the previous month.
